AET Mission Statement
The Alliance for Environmental Technology (AET) is an international association of chemical manufacturers and forest products companies dedicated to improving the environmental performance of the pulp and paper industry. AET was created to establish a clearinghouse of educational and technical resources relating to chlorine dioxide and its use in papermaking.
As a priority issue, AET supports the use of chlorine dioxide as a pollution prevention technology. It is a remarkable bleaching agent that eliminates persistent, bio-accumulative toxic substances in mill waste water. Chlorine dioxide is also an essential ingredient in today's highest-quality pulp and paper products. AET's membership is unique. It is a vertically integrated association with members who are both chemical manufacturers, and companies using those chemicals for papermaking.
